Policies & Personas

Bringing the Calderdale Transport Strategy to Life

To make our transport policies easier to understand and more relevant to everyone, we’ve developed nine personas representing the diverse people who live, work, study, and visit Calderdale.

These personas help to –

  • Highlight the real-life challenges people experience when travelling around Calderdale.
  • Show how the policies aim to address these challenges and improve everyday journeys.
  • Humanise technical policies by connecting them to diverse real-life needs, habits, and travel patterns.
  • Make the strategy more relatable, inclusive, and meaningful by showing how it will improve everyday travel across Calderdale.
  • Reflect the borough’s diversity, ensuring the strategy works for everyone.

For example, the personas illustrate how a safer cycling route could make commuting easier for Sofia (a regular cyclist), or how more frequent buses could help Andrew get to college on time.
