Join Calderdale Talkback Citizens' Panel
Talkback is Calderdale Council's Citizens' Panel.
A citizens' panel is a large group of adults of different ages and backgrounds. They represent the different people who live in an area or community.
Key benefits of the panel
It helps us to:
- measure public opinion
- know and understand people's views, ideas and opinions
- shape new plans and projects to meet the needs of our communities
What being part of Talkback involves
It runs as an e-panel, which means it is conducted online. Members are volunteers and can choose the things they want to take part in.
This can include:
- completing online surveys from Council service areas on different topics
- completing surveys for our partners, such as the NHS or West Yorkshire Combined Authority
- occasional options to take part in focus groups or interviews
What happens to the feedback?
- results are studied by the department or team leading the consultation
- they usually make a report of the findings
- they use the report to help make decisions or changes to the project or plan they are working on
- the survey can be just one part of a bigger and longer public engagement
What you will get out of joining the panel
By taking part, you will be:
- helping us learn about what really matters to you, your friends, family and neighbours
- helping us to make changes and improvements based on what local people think and say
- ensuring we are all working together to help to make Calderdale a better place to live for everyone
